World Day Against Trafficking in Persons:: Roundtable

You’re Invited!

This event includes a round table conversation about youth victims of human trafficking. We aim to meet with community stakeholders, considering how best to identify, screen, and serve youth, especially those who have been historically underserved. Your participation would be appreciated.

The New Mexico Dream Center provides a 360° strategic approach to address human trafficking in New Mexico through prevention activities, outreach to victims, services for survivors, and a support system for clients in their self-determination.

The Summit

The Summit

Along with First Nations Community Healthsource, the New Mexico Dream Center is excited to host The Summit, a human trafficking awareness and training event on July 27 from 8:30 am to 4 pm.

This free event, which includes a continental breakfast and catered lunch, is made possible by the generous sponsorship of the United Way of Central New Mexico.

Featuring keynote speaker Rebecca Cary, an overcomer of domestic sex trafficking herself, The Summit also includes a service provider panel along with short sessions about specific challenges of human trafficking in our community.

The event is open to the public. CEUs for industry professionals are available.

Event Topics:

  • Human Trafficking Aftercare Best Practices

  • Human Trafficking Resources and Response Panel

5 CEU hours will be available pending approval by the New Mexico Chapter of the NASW.

Keynote speaker, Rebecca Cary

is the Founder of Hands of Justice, Consultant, Speaker, Educator, and Overcomer Leader. She is a recent graduate of Sam Houston State University with a Masters in Victims Studies. She holds the Co-Chair and Survivor position on the board of the Montgomery County Coalition Against Human Trafficking and serves on the Survivor Leader Council for the state of Texas. She was featured in a PSA, as well as a short film, for the new Goya Care initiative, appeared on NBC, and has also been an endorser for the “Can you See Me” campaign, led by A21 in various cities throughout Texas. In May of 2022, she published her first book, When Silence Ends, which features Overcomer stories from across the United States. As of July 2022, Rebecca opened up an Economic Empowerment and Resource Center for Survivors of Human Trafficking in Conroe, Texas. This is a first of its kind within the tri-state area of Texas.
