Create Your Own Hygiene Bags for Unhoused People
In the heart of every compassionate community lies a commitment to support the vulnerable. At the New Mexico Dream Center, we believe in extending a helping hand to those experiencing homelessness, providing them not only with essential supplies but also with a sense of dignity and care.
One way we achieve this is through our NMDC hygiene bags that we hand out during outreach.
The goal of the NMDC outreach program is to locate and build relationships with unhoused youth and trafficking victims in various locations around our city. We carefully curate hygiene bags to meet the basic needs of unhoused youth. It’s just one way to connect with this population and begin to establish a relationship so they know they can turn to us when they need to.
You probably often encounter people experiencing homelessness in our city. So we would love to empower you to create your own hygiene bags filled with essentials and informational resources.
Our hygiene bags are thoughtfully designed to cater to the diverse needs of unhoused individuals. Here's a comprehensive list of items you can include when creating these bags.

Creating and distributing NMDC Hygiene Bags is an impactful way for individuals, groups, and communities to get involved. Consider organizing hygiene bag assembly events, partnering with local businesses for donations, or even setting up collection drives to gather the necessary items.
Join us in this mission to provide not just essential items but also a sense of dignity, comfort, and hope to those who need it most. Together, we can create a community that cares for and uplifts every member, ensuring that everyone has access to the resources they need to thrive.
Don’t forget to include this resource brochure in the hygiene bags you hand out.
If creating your own hygiene bags isn’t something you can tackle right now, we always appreciate donations to help us assemble ours. We give dozens of these away every week, so it’s always helpful to have items donated. This Amazon list is filled with items we regularly need. Thank you in advance!
