The Lighthouse is NMDC’s planned residential housing for human trafficking survivors and will be the first of its kind in New Mexico.

The state of New Mexico does not have adequate services for teens who have been sex trafficked that cannot return to a safe home environment.

These young people have experienced enormous amounts of abuse and trauma in their lives and need specialized care, a safe place to stay, compassionate service experiences, and a team dedicated to helping them take the next steps in their lives.

Our goal is to open just a facility that will accomplish those things. We are carefully planning what that will look like and are considering things such as a safe location with a security system, appropriately trained trauma-informed staff and volunteers, detox and sober living support, intensive case management, and educational opportunities.
